TIP 2: Worry less about yesterday

Never worry about trees that were not planted. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.

Focus on what you can do now to improve your situation and the situation of those around you. Those who need to be helped. The society that needs direction. The children that need help. The you that needs to take that bold leap. Focus on the actions you can do now that will pave way for a better tomorrow. Focus not on the missed opportunities or the regrets or the mistakes of the past. That tree has been planted. It’s time to plant a new one.

TIP 1: Focus on your strengths

We spend so much time focusing on our weaknesses and trying to improve our lives based on improving on our weaknesses.  Fact is, we all have strengths too. Focus on those strengths. Do what you love over and over and pretty soon you will be so good at it.
Stop trying to develop on your weakness. Instead, partner with someone very UNlike you, share the work and share the wealth and everyone’s happy.
It’s a natural process we need to harness. For example, man & woman. 🙂

Are Miracles Real?

These are my views on miracles:

Miracles can be divine or man-made.

Doctors and medicines are miracles.

Divine miracle will step in where man-made miracles are ineffective.

If you have a headache, you don’t need a divine miracle to get well. All you need is the miracle called paracetamol or another miracle known as rest/sleep.

If you have an incurable disease, you can seek divine miracle through prayers. This will work because there is no known solution yet for that incurable disease.

There are miracles like Penicillin or antibiotics for bacterial infections, or chloroquine for malaria. These are man-made. However, since there’s no man-made cure for deafness, dumbness, blindness or lameness yet, a prayer of faith will make a divine miracle take place. If you are at the early stages of diabetes, miracles like reduction in sugar intake and diet management can help.

Since there’s no known cure for HIV yet, one can seek and get a divine miracle. However, there are also preventive miracles for HIV and other STDs called abstinence and the condom miracle.

Family planning is another miracle.

Our friends, family and neighbours are miracles.

The fact that you can think, pray, cry, laugh and the fact that you are even privileged to be alive is a miracle.

Miracles are real. They are everywhere. I believe in Miracles.

What’s your view?

The miracle called Penicillin for bacterial infections.. or chloroquine for malaria..these are man-made. Since there’s no man-made cure for deafness, dumbness, blindness or lameness yet, a prayer of faith will make God intervene. If you have a small headache, take paracetamol. If you are at the Read Moreearly stages of diabetes, reduce your intake of sugar and manage it with diet…or another way you can look at it is since there’s no cure for HIV yet, GOD will intervene if one prays with faith… else prevent HIV by using the miracle called abstinence or the condom miracle.

#lightupnigeria series

LightUpNigeria is a movement which has arisen out of necessity in reaction to the current problem with power supply in Nigeria. The movement aims to highlight the problems caused by the lack of constant power supply in Nigeria and raise awareness of the situation globally. Through the awareness raised by this movement, it is highly anticipated that the current policy or policies governing the generation, distribution and transmission of power via the national grid service in Nigeria will be reviewed and reformed. According to the website, it is not a political campaign or organization, and every Nigerian is encouraged to get involved!!

In my own way of getting involved, I’m putting together some crude light photography series, which I hope would add value in my little way to the #lightupnigeria movement. We want light. We need light. We want to SEE!! We are NOT the city of the blind!!

Artificial Lines

Boundaries, tribes, regions, religion, race, status…

What artificial lines have ‘they’ used to limit you?

You can cross these lines. They aren’t real.

What matters? The lives, not lines.

[Quote of the day]

[“I hope that people will finally come to realize that there is only one ‘race’ – the human race – and that we are all members of it.” – Margaret Atwood]

I am because you are.

I exist because you exist.

It’s a two way thing.

I (can) do because you (can) do.

I’m available to you. You are to me.

I don’t feel threatened by you. Neither do you.

I blog you read. You blog I read.

I learn because you teach. I teach, you learn.

We belong to a greater whole.

For a greater good.

I therefore can’t exist in isolation.

Ubuntu. The way of life.

Too long…

A second.. a minute.. a day.. a week.. two weeks.. a month.. a year…

is just… Too long!!

You love someone and you don’t see for just..

..a second.. a minute.. a day.. a week.. two weeks.. a month.. a year…

and it becomes… Too long!!

You get angry and you keep a grudge for just..

..a second.. a minute.. a day.. a week.. two weeks.. a month.. a year…

and it turns out… Too long!!

You are committed to something and you let go for just..

..a second.. a minute.. a day.. a week.. two weeks.. a month.. a year…

and its… Too long!!

And LIFE is the exact opposite… and life’s just… Too short!!!

It’s just too short to let go… and it doesn’t matter if it’s just for..

..a second.. a minute.. a day.. a week.. two weeks.. a month.. a year…

It will all be over!!

Just HANG ON… Hang in there!!!

My Real Age..

Before you go ahead, be sure to check out this post by Blogoratti 😉

So back to the age issue…

It’s Shocking!!! I’m 8years older than my real age? something is definitely wrong..with me!!

I checked out which is a great site that tells you your exact real age – believe me they are accurate (if you provide true information)…
So how come I’m 8years older than my current age?

– I usually skip breakfast

– I don’t sleep well..I don’t have enough sleep

– I don’t take vitamins supplements daily

– I don’t push myself enough with exercises, don’t gym my muscles

– I don’t eat enough fruits, not enough potassium/calcium intake

– Not enough friend & family time

– Not knowing my BP and other personal vital health information

….and the list goes on….

So, if the bible says 75yrs is the ripe age, does it mean if one continues like this, then one should expect to cease to exist at about 65/66years (now subtract the city carbon emissions and 9-5 stress and traffic and all the noise… LOL.. it isn’t funny!!)?

Ok, it’s just a call to better, healthier living. Things I take for granted would have to be taken seriously..

There’s nothing like good health…

I’d start taking breakfast and improving my diet and sleeping for at least 7hours daily (this is the difficult part) and improve on exercises (God help me.. to achieve all these – at least I’ll start a step-at-a-time)..

All the same, the idea is clear!! the message is clear!!

By knowing your body, you develop a base of knowledge that gives you the power and authority to preserve and strengthen your life.

The Free Theory

I believe that the best things, ideas, products and innovations in life are FREE and should be FREE”

Whether it be man-made or natural..

This is what I believe.

For the not so good things, ideas, products and innovations, we can put a price tag so as to push for acceptance and make it look and feel valuable.

Free is the order of the Creator, the order of nature – free blood, free oxygen, free soil, free trees, free waters, free life, free salvation via Christ…

I’m not trying to preach here…even if I am trying to, you either take it or leave it – it’s my opinion – [well, you can key into it too 😉 ]

For those who are already grumbling inside, there’s a sweet side to this theory..

..the fact that greater than 90% of our outputs (ideas, products, etc) are not the best.. they tend towards the average mark.. mediocre.., for these 90% of average output, you can put a price tag so as to make it look valuable (of which it isn’t the best and it isn’t so valuable in actual sense)

For the few very good/best outputs, it’s now up to you to intelligently make available these best products, ideas, books, art, time and so on, to those who are in dire need of it, for FREE!!!

Affect lives! Give freely the best things you can offer — and don’t forget to put a price tag to those that are not as good (of course you won’t forget this)!! 😀

Majority of our outputs are “not as good”… so if we (including myself) keep on spending all the days of our lives putting a price tag to every output, then probably we are not as good too – maybe we’re just average people then – mediocres.. maybe!!

Have a free weekend 🙂

One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.” Proverbs 11:24

No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer. Your life, because of who you are, has meaning.” Barbara DeAngelis
